Fantastic Style, Best Warrior score weekend graded stakes wins

Kaleem Shah’s Fantastic Style romped to her first graded stakes win on Saturday at Los Alamitos, taking charge of the $200, 750 Great Lady M Stakes (G2) after turning for home and drawing away to a 3-1/2 length victory. It’s the second straight stakes win for the 3-year-old filly by Harlan’s Holiday, purchased for $525,000 by Donato Lanni, Agent, out of the Eisaman Equine consignment at the 2014 OBS April Sale after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5. Yukio Baba’s millionaire Best Warrior defended his title in the Procyon Stakes (G3) on Sunday at Chukyo Racecourse in Japan, charging between horses in deep stretch and drawing away to a two length score.  (race video) It’s the third graded stakes win for the 5-year-old horse by Majestic Warrior, now 19-8-4-2 with earnings of $2,309,753. After working an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show for the 2012 OBS April Sale, he was purchased out of the Harris Training Center consignment by Narvick International for $400,000. watch his under tack video 

Ballybrit Stable, LLC’s Gallery found Belmont’s turf course to his linking on Sunday, taking  the lead at the start and holding on gamely to win the $95,000 Manila Stakes by a nose. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old colt by Munnings, who breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5 before he was purchased for $30,000 out of the Halcyon Hammock consignment at the 2014 OBS April Sale. Trained by Michael Drini, he’s now 11-3-0-4 with $135,080 in earnings.  watch his under tack video    

Ranlo Investments LLC’s Lady Shipman took on older fillies and mares in Sunday’s $60,000 Klassy Briefcase Stakes on the Monmouth Park turf course and after leading from the start, the 3-year-old daughter of Midshipman drew off in the stretch and rolled to a 6-1/4 length victory over fellow OBS graduate Jewel of a Cat (April ’12). Winner of the 2015 OBS Sprint Stakes in track record time, she was consigned by Pleasant Acres Farm, Agent, to the 2014 OBS April Sale, where she sped an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5. Trained by Kathleen O’Connell, her 8-6-0-2 record includes four stakes wins and she’s earned $218,800 to date. watch her under tack video

Bernard G. Schaeffer’s Henny Jenney rallied from just off the pace to take charge of Sunday’s $78,500 Northern Fling Stakes at Presque Isle Downs a sixteenth from home and she eased away from there to a three quarter length victory. It’s the second stakes win for the 4-year-old daughter of Henny Hughes, purchased by Tim Kegel, Agent, for $100,000 out of the Mayberry Farm consignment at the 2013 OBS April Sale after an eighth in :10 2/5 at the Under Tack Show. Trained by William R. Connelly, she’s now 15-5-4-1 with earnings of $245,843. watch her under tack video
