Lady Shipman returns and wins Pimlico’s Stormy Blues Stakes

Ranlo Investments LLC’s Lady Shipman,  idle since her track record performance in the OBS Sprint Stakes in January, took to the turf in her return to the races in Saturday’s five furlong $100,000 Stormy Blues Stakes at Pimlico. Taking over after a brief duel for the early lead, she opened up daylight on the turn then ran away in the stretch to a five length victory. Fellow OBS graduate Harlan’s Honor (April ’14), checked in third. It’s the fourth win in five starts for the 3-year-old daughter of Midshipman, consigned by Pleasant Acres Farm, Agent, to the 2014 OBS April Sale where she sped an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5. Trained by Kathleen O’Connell, she’s now 5-4-0-1 and has earned $140,400. watch her under tack video
