No Problem scores in Del Mar’s Bob Hope Stakes

P and G Stables LLC’s No Problem jumped from a maiden win straight into Saturday’s $100, 000 Bob Hope Stakes (G3) at Del Mar and came from just off the pace to score a half length victory, with fellow OBS graduate St. Joe Bay (June ’14, January ’13) checking in third. The 2-year-old colt by Munnings, now 3-2-0-0 with earnings of $81,250,  is a two time OBS graduate, purchased by P and G for $30,000 out of the Top Line Sales consignment at the 2013 August Sale and then consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, to the 2014 April Sale where he breezed an eighth in :10 flat. watch his under tack video

Michael Dubb, Bethlehem Stables and Gary Aisquith’s The Lewis Dinner tried stakes company after a maiden win and also had no problem with the raise in class, taking the lead at the start of Sunday’s $100,000 Key Cents Stakes at Aqueduct and never looking back en route to a 3-3/4 length victory. Fellow OBS graduate Sweetpollypurebrd (April ’14) ran evenly to finish third. Purchased for $50,000 at the 2014 OBS April sale out of the Eisaman Equine consignment by Gary C. Young, Agent for Michael Dubb, after an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat, the 2-year-old daughter of Posse is now 5-2-2-1 and has earned $139,500 to date. watch her under tack video

William & Corrine Heiligbrodt’s Cinco Charlie, the first member of the OBS class of 2014 to graduate and it’s first graded stakes winner, added Laurel’s $100,000 James F. Lewis III Stakes to his resume on Saturday, battling head to head for the lead before opening up in the stretch and drawing off to a 2-3/4 length victory. It’s the third stakes win for the Indian Charlie colt, purchased by the Heiligbrodts for $190,000 out of the Cary Frommer consignment at the 2014 OBS March Sale after working an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Zayat Stables, LLC’s Zee Bros, ignored at 29-1, took control of Saturday’s $350,000 Frank J. De Francis Memorial Stakes at Laurel nearing the top of the stretch and cruised from there to a 2-3/4 length victory. It’s the second stakes win for the well traveled 4-year-old colt by Brother Derek, sold to Zayat for $270,000 by Eisaman Equine, Agent, at the 2012 OBS April Sale after he sped a quarter in :21 flat at the Under Tack Show. Racing in California, New York, Kentucky, Maryland and Dubai, he has compiled a 15-4-2-0 record and earned $437,730. watch his under tack video

 Lawrence P. Roman and David Jacobson’s Stormin Monarcho charged between horses at the head of the stretch of Saturday’s $100,000 Richard W. Small Stakes at Laurel, hit the front in the lane then pulled away to a 2-3/4 length victory. It’s the third stakes win for the 4-year-old gelding by Monarchos, now 27-8-7-3 with earnings of $352,281. He was sold for $85,000 by Imagine . . . at the 2012 OBS March Sale after working an Under Tack eighth in :10 3/5. watch his under tack video

John Carver, Jerry Hollendorfer and Green Smith’s Outside Nashville came from off the pace, took the lead a furlong from the finish and scored a four length victory in Saturday’s $55,070 Oakland Stakes at Golden Gate. It’s the third stakes win for the 4-year-old gelding by Broken Vow, sold by Eisaman Equine, Agent, for $115,000 to Hollendorfer and Smith at the 2012 OBS March Sale after he worked an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show.
