Rockport Harbor filly tops June Sale’s second session

Hip No. 539, a daughter of Rockport Harbor was sold to Patrice Miller, EQB, Inc., Agent, for $210,000 to top the second session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2014 June Sale of Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age.  Consigned by Bobby Dodd, Agent, the gray or roan filly, who worked an eighth in :10 2/5 at last Wednesday’s Under Tack session, is a half sister to stakes placed Livin Peace out of Cinnamon Girl, by Meadowlake,

Hip No. 442, a colt by Quality Road consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent, went to Calumet Farm for $185,000. He’s out of Banner, by A.P. Indy, a half sister to stakes winner Gold Streamer, and worked an eighth in :10 3/5 at Wednesday’s Under Tack session.

Niall Brennan also consigned Hip No. 436, a son of Stormy Atlantic sold to Gayle Van Leer, Agent, for $165,000. The chestnut colt, who worked a quarter last Wednesday in :21 3/5, is out of Back in Time, by Empire Maker, a half sister to Lucky Pulpit, sire of classic winner California Chrome.

Hip No. 510, a Scat Daddy bay filly consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, who breezed an Under Tack quarter in :21 1/5, was purchased by Cody Autrey, Agent for Steve Landers for $130,000.  She’s out of Carrie My Love, by Meadowlake, a half sister to stakes winner Time for Romance.

West Point Thoroughbreds, Inc. paid $125,000 for Hip No. 524, Plymouth, a son of Forefathers out of Charlie’s Moonbeam, by Indian Charlie, a half sister to stakes winner Afare.  Consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, the bay colt worked an eighth in :10 2/5 last Wednesday.

Hip No. 406, a daughter of Scat Daddy consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, was sold to Midwest Thoroughbreds, Inc. for $115,000. The dark bay or brown filly, whose quarter in :21 flat was co-fastest at the distance at Wednesday’s Under Tack session, is out of April True, by Yes It’s True, from the family of graded stakes placed stakes winner Clock Tower.

Richard Hogan, Agent, went to $110,000 for Hip No. 422, a son of More Than Ready consigned by Sequel Bloodstock, Inc. (Becky Thomas), Agent. The chestnut colt, who breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5, is out of graded stakes placed stakes winner Authenicat.

Hip No. 515, a bay colt by Kiss the Kid who breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5, went to Joseph Ciaglia, Jr. for $110,000. Consigned by Best A Luck Farm LLC, Agent, he’s out of Catomaria, by Tale of the Cat, from the family of stakes winner In My Heart.

Hip No. 526, a daughter of A.P.Warrior, also brought $110,000, consigned by Wings Ranch and sold to Donato Lanni, Agent for Three Amigos. The bay filly, out of Chase the Bunny, by Crafty Friend, a half sister to stakes winner Louisiana Lace, worked a quarter on Wednesday in :21 2/5.

Hip No. 398, Justlookatmenow, a filly by Old Fashioned consigned by Crupi’s New Castle Farm, Agent, was sold to Sovereign Stable, Inc. for $107,000. The gray or roan filly, who worked an eighth in :10 flat, is out of stakes winner Anofficerandalady, by Officer, a half sister to graded stakes winner Gotaghostofachance.

Hip No. 303, a bay colt by Stormy Atlantic consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, was sold to Dennis O’Neill for $100,000. The half brother to graded stakes placed stakes winner Shimmering Moment, who worked an eighth in :10 2/5 Tuesday, is out of Vassar, by Royal Academy.

For the session, 175 horses sold for a total of $5,533,400, compared with 208 horses bringing $7,487,000 at last year’s second session. The average was $31,619 compared with $35,995 in 2013 while the median price rose ten percent from $20,000 in 2013 to $22,000. The buyback percentage was 21.5%; identical to last year.
