Temple City colt fastest at Spring Sale’s first Under Tack session

Hip No. 207, a colt by Temple City consigned by Off the Hook LLC, worked a quarter in :20 4/5  to post the fastest work at the distance at the opening session of the Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2014 Spring Sale of Two Year Olds in Training. The dark bay or brown colt is out of Juneau, by Mr. Greeley and is a half brother to stakes placed Alaska Miss.

The weather deteriorated during the morning until a heavy thunderstorm forced nearly an hour delay after the second break. Although the rain abated in the afternoon, horses fought gusting headwinds in the stretch for the rest of the session.

Eight horses worked quarters in :21 flat. Hip No. 5, a bay colt by Flower Alley consigned by Blue River Bloodstock, Agent, is out of Fairy Valley, by Dixieland Band, a half sister to champion Basqueian.

Hip No. 15, a bay filly by Posse consigned by Jimmy Miranda, Agent, is out of Fillie by the Bay, by Elusive Quality, a daughter of stakes winner Give Notice.

Hip No. 51, Peace Tree, consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne) Agent, is a bay filly by Broken Vow out of Friendship Tree, by Benchmark, a half sister to grade one stakes winner Harmonious.

Hip No. 126, a bay colt by Into Mischief consigned by Sun Thoroughbred Stable Corp., Agent, is out of Heavenly Spirits, by Southern Halo, and is a half brother to stakes placed Hitra.

Hip No. 128, Louisiana Brown, consigned by Hoppel’s Horse & Cattle Co., Agent, is a chestnut colt by Big Brown out of Heaven’s Slam, by Grand Slam, from the family of graded stakes winner Really Quick.

Hip No. 138, consigned by Southern Chase Farm, Inc. (Greg & Karen Dodd) Agent, is a bay Yes It’s True filly out of Hold the Sugar, by Forest Wildcat, a half sister to stakes winner and graded stakes placed Red Eye.

Hip No. 220, a dark bay or brown colt consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent, is a dark bay or brown colt by Kantharos out of stakes winner Kickapoo Princess, by Unreal Zeal.

Hip No. 288, a bay colt by Ready’s Image out of stakes placed Love You Crazy, by Touch Gold, is consigned by Woodside Ranch, Agent.

Four youngsters shared honors for the session’s fastest eighth, each stopping the timer in :9 4/5.

Hip No. 20, consigned by Silver Star, is a chestnut filly by Cowtown Cat out of Five Star Annie, by Five Star Day, a half sister to stakes winner Funny Annie.

Hip No. 67, a bay filly by Warrior’s Reward consigned by King’s Equine, Agent for Spendthrift Farm, is out of stakes winner G G’s Dolly, by Comic Strip.

Hip No. 161, consigned by Eisaman Equine, Agent, is a dark bay or brown filly by Flatter out of Hurricane Hannah, by Southern Halo, a half sister to graded stakes winner Lovely Lil.

Hip No. 168, a dark bay or brown Cool Coal Man filly consigned by Halcyon Hammock Farm, Agent, is out of Inaspecial Way, by Seattle Sleet, and is a half sister to stakes placed Forbidden Bear.

Twenty-one horses worked eighths in :10 flat. Hip No. 18, consigned by Bo Hunt, Agent, is a bay colt by Cowboy Cal out of First Installment, by Broken Vow, a half sister to graded stakes placed Ransom Demanded. 

Hip No. 25, Pursuing Fate, a half sister to Blue Grass Stakes (G1) winning OBS graduate Dance With Fate, is a dark bay or brown filly by In Summation out of Flirting With Fate, by Saint Ballado, consigned by Best A Luck Farm LLC, Agent. Best A Luck also consigned Hip No. 209, Solid Future, a dark bay or brown Scat Daddy colt out of Justforthegirls, by Slew Gin Fizz, a half sister to stakes winner Hi Friend Code.

Three youngsters were consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent. Hip No. 27 is a gray or roan colt by Old Fashioned out of Flowerbud, by Cape Town, and is a half brother to stakes placed Rocky Gap. Hip No. 62 is a bay filly by Harlan’s Holiday out of Garden Party, by A. P Jet, a half sister to grade one winner Without Feathers. Hip No. 290 is a chestnut Midshipman filly out of Lucky Flyer, by Fusaichi Pegasus, a daughter of stakes winner Beautiful Crazy.

Hip No. 37, a chestnut colt by Tale of Ekati consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, is out of stakes winner Forest Shadows, by Woodman.

Hip No. 65 is a dark bay or brown colt by Indian Charlie out of stakes winner Generosity, by Unbridled’s Song, consigned by All In Sales (Tony Bowling), Agent.

Hip No. 68, consigned by Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds LLC, is a chestnut colt by Midshipman out of Ghostly Fast, by Ghostzapper, a daughter of stakes winner Jena Jena.
