Rose to Gold takes the Houston Ladies Classic

Kathleen Amaya and Raffaele Centofani’s Rose to Gold is closing in on a million after shipping to Texas and taking Saturday’s $400, 000 Houston Ladies Classic Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park. It’s the sixth stakes win for the 4-year-old filly by Friends Lake, now 11-6-1-0 with earnings of $963, 509. She was consigned by Karrington Stables, Agent, to the 2011 OBS August Sale. 

Jennifer Harries’ Evolution Rocks picked up his first stakes win on Saturday at Calder, taking the lead at the start and staying there all the way en route to a 2-1/4 length victory in the $65,000 Thrillin Discovery Handicap. Sold for $14,000 by Beth Bayer, Agent, at the 2010 OBS August Sale, the 5-year-old Florida-bred gelding by City Zip is now 23-8-4-1 with $148,110 in earnings.

David Wolochuk, Patrick Dale Montoya and Blue Snow Racing Stables’ Ramona’s Wildcat is two for two and a stakes winner after a front-running 9-1/2 length victory over fellow OBS graduate Let Her Dance (April ’13) in the $50,080 El Paso Times Handicap on Saturday at Sunland Park. A two-time OBS graduate, the 3-year-old Wildcat Heir filly, who has earned $40,740 to date, was sold first by Pelican State Thoroughbreds at the 2012 August Sale. She was then resold for $125,000 by Indian Prairie Ranch, Agent, at the 2013 April Sale after speeding a quarter in :20 3/5 at the Under Tack Show. watch her under tack video
