Jeranimo scores in Santa Anita’s San Gabriel

B.J. Wright’s Jeranimo scored in Saturday’s $200, 500 San Gabriel Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita the same way he won it last year, rallying from last turning for home and blowing past them all, winning by a length and a quarter. It’s the eighth graded stakes win for the 8-year-old Florida-bred son of Congaree, who also took the San Gabriel in 2010 and was second in the 2012 renewal.  Now 39-11-6-5 with $1,521,364 in earnings, he was sold for $50,000 by On Course Sales, Agent, at the 2007 OBS August Sale.

Tri-Star Racing LLC and The Farm on 4 LLC’s Mighty Brown sat just off the pace in the $100,000 Pasco Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs on Saturday, then wore down the leaders in the stretch and drew off late to a 3-1/4 length victory. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old colt by Big Brown, sold for $70,000 by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent, at the 2013 OBS April Sale. His second straight win leaves him with a 9-2-4-1 record and $128,590 in earnings. watch his under tack video

Germania Farms’ Germaniac took command early in Saturday’s $100,000 Frank Whiteley, Jr. Stakes at Laurel then set the pace and won as he pleased, scoring by 6-1/2 lengths over fellow OBS graduate Jessethemarine (April ’13).  It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old Henny Hughes colt, now 5-3-0-1 with earnings of $110,120. He was sold for $75,000 by Imagine… at the 2012 OBS August Sale.  Selected Yearling Sale photo
