Stopchargingmaria, Egg Drop win weekend stakes races

Repole Stable’s Stopchargingmaria scored her first graded stakes win in a laugher, taking the lead at the start of Aqueduct’s $250,000 Tempted Stakes (G3) never let it go, putting away the early speed and then bounding away to a 10-3/4 length victory. The 2-year-old Tale of the Cat filly, who won the first baby race at this year’s Saratoga meeting, is now 4-2-1-1 and has earned $308,000. After working an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show, she was sold for $220,000 by Woodford Thoroughbreds, Agent, at the 2013 OBS March Sale.  watch her under tack video

Little Red Feather Racing’s Egg Drop posted her second straight graded stakes win on Sunday, edging fast closing fellow OBS graduate Miss Pippa (March ’11) in the $151,000 Goldikova Stakes (G2) by a head. The 4-year-old Florida-bred filly by Alphabet Soup was sold for $12,000 by Janie Roper, Agent, at the 2010 OBS August Sale. Four for eight this year, she’s now 11-5-2-2 and earnings of $344,020.
