Toasting takes Belmont’s Dream Rush Stakes

West Point Thoroughbreds’ Toasting trailed in the early going in Sunday’s $100, 000 Dream Rush Stakes at Belmont Park, but circled horses on the turn, hit the front in deep stretch and rolled to a 2-1/4 length win. The 3-year-old graded stakes placed filly’s first stakes win comes in a race named for West Point’s 2006 OBS graduate Dream Rush. The daughter of Wild Rush was a multiple graded stakes winner of $779,364 after she was purchased for $285, 000 at OBS February and later sold for $3.3-milllion as a broodmare prospect. Toasting, now 12-3-1-4 with earnings of $291,350 was purchased for $175,000 out of the Eddie Woods consignment at the 2012 OBS March Sale after Florida-bred daughter by Congrats worked an eighth in :10 2/5 at the Under Tack Show.  watch her under tack video

Patsy C. Symons’ Effie Trinket posted her second straight stakes score on Saturday at Belmont, battling down the stretch and winning the $200,000 Ticonderoga Stakes by a nose. A two time OBS graduate, she was sold as a yearling by McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds, Agent, at the 2011 Winter Mixed Sale before being resold for $105,000 by Everett Livestock at the 2012 OBS April Sale after a quarter in a bullet :20 3/5 at the Under Tack Show. The 3-year-old graded stakes placed daughter of Freud is four for six this year, 10-6-1-1 overall, and has earned $432,150 to date. watch her under tack video

Antonio Miuccio’s Palace rallied wide in Saturday’s $150,000 Hudson Handicap at Belmont, charged past the leaders in the final seventy yards and scored by a length and  a quarter. It’s the second straight stakes win for the 4-year-old colt by City Zip, sold for $160,000 by Crupi’s New Castle Farm, Agent, at the 2011 OBS March Sale. He’s now 13-7-2-2 with $352,050 in earnings. watch his under tack video

Mr. Amore Stable’s Ribo Bobo romped to his ninth straight win on Saturday with a 5-3/4 length wire to wire victory in the $100,000 Maryland Million Sprint Handicap. Consigned by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, to the 2010 OBS Winter Mixed Sale, the 5-year-old gelding by Louis Quatorze is now 46-14-4-3 with earnings of $460,155.

Tom and Marilyn Braly’s Tom’s Tribute tried stakes company for the first time in Sunday’s $72,350 Uniformity Stakes on the turf at Santa Anita, ran past the leaders in the stretch and drew out to a 2-1/4 length victory. Fellow OBS graduate Appealing Tale (March ’12) checked in third. Unraced at two, the 3-year-old colt by Lion Heart is now 6-3-2-0 and has earned $138,980. Robert Abbo Racing Stables LLC’s Immortal Eyes used different tactics in Friday’s $50,000 Jefferson County Commission Handicap at Charles Town, but overpowered his rivals and scored by a length and a quarter. Rating just off the speed in the early going, the 8-year-old Florida-bred son of Greatness took over turning for home and cruised to his thirteenth stakes victory. A three time veteran of the OBS sales ring, he was sold at the 2006 Winter Mixed Sale by Adena Springs South then resold at the 2006 August Yearling Sale by Beth Bayer, Agent. Then, consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, to the 2007 February Sale, he brought $220,000 after an working an eighth in :10 3/5 at the Under Tack Show.  Now 48-18-13-4, he has earned $1,120,051. watch his under tack video

Midwest Thoroughbreds Inc.’s Managed Account picked up his second straight stakes win, taking charge turning for home in Charles Town’s $50,000 Governor’s Cup Handicap on Friday night and sailing to a 2-3/4 length victory. It’s the fifth win in ten trips to the post this year for the 4-year-old colt by Malibu Moon, purchased for $110,000 out of the de Meric Sales consignment at the 2011 OBS April Sale. The win gives him a 19-7-3-1 record with earnings of $263,683.  watch his under tack video
