In Trouble wins the Futurity at Belmont Park

Team D’s In Trouble is two for two and a graded stakes winner after tracking the speed in the $200, 000 Futurity Stakes (G2) at Belmont Park, taking dead aim turning for home and rolling by in the lane en route to a 1-1/2 length score. Sold for $120, 000 by Grassroots Training & Sales LLC after working an eighth in :10 1/5 at the 2013 OBS April Sale, the 2-year-old colt by Tiz Wonderful has earned $168,000 to date. watch his under tack video

WinStar Farm LLC’s General Election  captured his second graded stakes win the same way he won his first, rallying from off the pace and getting up in the final yards, taking Saturday’s $110,400 Jefferson Cup Stakes (G2) at Churchill Downs by a neck. It’s the third win in eight starts this year for the 3-year-old Harlan’s Holiday colt, now 10-4-2-0 with earnings of $285,189. He was sold for $150,000 by Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, at the 2012 OBS March Sale. watch his under tack video

Lone Stable LLC’s Parranda led a 1-2-3 OBS sweep of Saturday’s $100,000 Our Dear Peggy Stakes at Gulfstream, taking over at the top of the stretch and drawing off to a 2-1/4 length victory. Millenia (August ’11) rallied for second, a nose ahead of Creative License (June ’12, Ocotber ’10), who settled for third. It’s the first stakes win for the 4-year-old Florida-bred daughter of English Channel, sold for $13,000 by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent, at the 2011 OBS April Sale. G. Ray Trisler’s Sliver of Hope went wire to wire in Saturday’s $88,950 City of Anderson Stakes at Indiana Downs, scoring her first stakes victory by three quarters of a length. That’s two straight wins for the 2-year-old filly by Value Plus, now 3-2-0-1 with earnings of $76,268. After working a quarter in :21 1/5 at the Under Tack Show, she was purchased for $35,000 from the Southern Chase Farm (Greg & Karen Dodd) consignment at the 2013 OBS June Sale. watch her under tack video

Marc Wexler’s Aarons Orient tried stakes company in his first start since a Saratoga maiden victory in August, went right to the front in Sunday’s $75,000 Kip Deville Stakes at Remington Park and stayed there to the wire, besting fellow OBS graduate Rivers Run Deep (June ’13) by 3-3/4 lengths. Sold for $75,000 by Bobby Dodd, Agent, after working an eighth in :10 flat at the 2013 OBS April Sale, the 2-year-old colt by Orientate is now 3-2-0 -0 and has earned $97,000.  watch his under tack video

Clyde Rice’s Champagne Ruby came from just off the pace in the $50,000 Shesastonecoldfox Stakes at Finger Lakes on Saturday, hit the front a furlong from home and was best by a length. It’s the first stakes win for the 2-year-old daughter of Utopia (JPN), sold for $5,000 by Carapan Farm LLC (Ed & Diane Gregory) at the 2012 OBS Winter Mixed Sale. She’s now 4-2-0-0 and has earned $51,715.
