Reneesgotzip romps in record Rancho Bernardo at Del Mar

Lanni Family Trust’s Reneesgotzip took charge of Del Mar’s $150, 000 Rancho Bernardo Handicap (G3) on Sunday at the break and was never headed en route to a 4-1/4 length victory, running the 6-1/2 furlongs in a track record 1:14 2/5. It’s the second graded stakes win for the 4-year-old filly by City Zip, three for three over the Del Mar surface. Sold by Ricky Leppala, Agent, for $45,000 at the 2011 OBS April Sale, she’s now 12-7-3-1 and has earned $655,460. watch her under tack video

George E. Coleman, Jimmy M. Sanders and Solitaire Stable’s Cloud Harbor is two for two and a stakes winner after getting up in the final yards and winning the $100,000 Gold Rush Futurity at Arapahoe Park by a length over fellow OBS graduate Ima Happy Strike (March ’13).  Sold for $42,000 by Price Thoroughbreds (Andro and Tracey Price), Agent, at the 2013 OBS April Sale, the 2-year-old Rockport Harbor colt has earned $64,560 to date. watch his under tack video

Mark DeDomenico LLC and North American Thoroughbred Horse Company’s Saturday Nite Ride made it two straight stakes wins, leading all the way and winning Saturday’s $75,000 City of Edmonton Distaff Handicap at Northlands Park by 5-1/2 lengths. Four for six this year, the 4-year-old daughter of Flower Alley, sold for $50,000 by Eisaman Equine, Agent, at the 2011 OBS April Sale, is now 8-4-0-2 and has earned $128,026. watch her under tack video

Hugh H. Robertson and Barry Butzow’s Starry Eyed Kate tried stakes company for the first time in the $50,000 H. B. P. A. Distaff Stakes at Canterbury on Saturday and held on gamely to win by a neck. It’s the second win in three starts this year for the 5-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Roar of the Tiger, sold first by Summerfield, Agent, at the 2009 OBS January Sale. Resold for $9,500 by Beth Bayer, Agent, at the 2009 OBS August Yearling Sale, she has a 16-6-2-5 record and $162,742 in earnings.

Copper Water Thoroughbred Company’s Miss Derek rallied on the turn, took the lead in the final furlong and won the $50,000 Hong Kong Jockey Club Handicap at Hastings Racecourse by a length and a quarter. That’s two straight stakes wins for the 3-year-old filly by Brother Derek, now 13-3-1-3 with $109,835 in earnings. She was sold by Top Line Sales, Agent, at the 2011 OBS August Yearling Sale.
