Goldencents rolls in Santa Anita’s Sham Stakes

W.C. Racing, Dave Kenney and RAP Racing’s Goldencents tracked the early pace of fellow OBS graduate Manando (March ’12, August ’11) in Santa Anita’s $100,000 Sham Stakes (G3), wore him down in the drive and pulled away to a 1-1/2 length victory. Manando settled for third. It’s the second straight graded stakes win for the 3-year-old colt by Into Mischief, trained by Doug O’Neill and purchased by Dennis O’Neill for $62,000 out of the Southern Chase Farm (Greg and Karen Dodd) consignment at the 2012 OBS June Sale. The win gives him a 4-3-1-0 record and $782,000 in earnings.  watch his under tack video

Houyhnhnm Stable’s Great Attack successfully defended his title in Tampa Bay Downs’ $75,000 Turf  Dash Stakes, hitting the front five wide in the final furlong and winning by a length and three quarters over fellow OBS graduate Silver Cloud (April ’10).  It’s the third stakes score for the graded stakes winning three-time OBS graduate, consigned by Hidden Brook, Agent, to the 2008 January and October Sales before being sold by Eddie Woods, Agent, for $37,000 at the 2009 OBS April Sale. The victory gives him a 19-7-4-2 record and earnings of $453,010.  watch his under tack video

Saul and Max Kupferberg’s Sunny Desert ran off her sixth straight win on Sunday, coming from last in a field of four to win $75,000 Cat Cay Stakes at Aqueduct by a length under a hand ride. That’s four stakes wins for the 4-year-old daughter of Wild Desert, sold for $2,000 by Quiet Time Farm, Agent, at the 2009 OBS Fall Mixed Sale. She’s now 11-6-3-0 and has earned $311,750 to date.
