Atlantic Hurricane repeats in Woodbine’s Ontario Fashion Stakes

B. & R. McLellan, C. Hollick & S. Simon’s Atlantic Hurricane captured Woodbine’s $156, 153 Ontario Fashion Stakes (G3) for the second straight year Sunday, closing strongly and getting up in the last jump to win by a nose. That’s four stakes wins for the 5-year-old Florida-bred filly by Halo’s Image, sold for $21,000 by Bridlewood Farm, Agent, at the 2009 OBS April Sale. Thomas D. Shank and Stan Young’s Good Lord rang up his fourth stakes win of the year in the $130,000 Mountaineer Mile Stakes on Saturday, taking the lead in mid-stretch before pulling away to a 3-3/4 length victory. Four for ten this year, the 5-year-old Florida-bred son of Greatness is now 44-8-9-10 and has earned $427,109. Paul P. Pompa’s Morrow Cove came from last in a field of six to win Friday’s $75,000 Raging Fever Stakes at Aqueduct, taking charge past the eighth pole and scoring by a length and a quarter. It’s the second stakes win for the 3-year-old daughter of Yes It’s True, sold for $100,000 by W.D. North Thoroughbreds LLC, Agent, at the 2011 OBS June Sale.
