The catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s June Sale of Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age is now available via the OBS website at obssales.com. The website features a sortable master index for the catalog, daily pedigree updates and past performances as well as under tack show videos and results. In the wake of OBS two-year-old graduate I’ll Have Another’s Kentucky Derby victory, this is the final opportunity of the year to buy an OBS juvenile.
There are 653 two-year-olds and 27 older horses cataloged for the two-day OBS sale, set for Tuesday and Wednesday, June 19th and 20th. Both sessions will begin at 10:30 a.m.
There’s a change in format for the Under Tack Show, split this year into three sessions: Friday, June 15th through Sunday, June 17th, beginning each morning at 7:30 a.m. Hip No.’s 1-225 will breeze Friday; Hip No.’s 226 – 450 on Saturday and Hip No.’s 451 – 680 go on Sunday.
As always, the sale and Under Tack Show will be streamed live via the OBS website at obssales.com, and also via the Blood-Horse and DRF websites. The works will be available on DVD and on theOBS website, as well as in the video room adjacent to the Horsemen’s Lounge and at kiosks in the breezeway and covered walking ring areas. In-room viewing is available at the Holiday Inn, The Courtyard by Marriott, Homewood Suites, Residence Inn and the Ocala Hilton, plus lounge viewing is available at the Hilton.
Recent June Sale graduates have excelled on all surfaces at racing’s highest levels. Giant Ryan won a pair of graded stakes on the dirt, capturing Calder’s Smile Sprint Handicap (G2) and scoring in Belmont’s prestigious Vosburgh Stakes (G1). May Day Rose won Santa Anita’s Santa Ysabel Stakes (G3) on the dirt as well as Hollywood’s Railbird Stakes (G3) on their all-weather track. Shkspeare Shaliyah was victorious in Belmont’s Pilgrim Stakes (G3) on the turf.
