Plum Pretty romps in Parx Racing’s Cotillion Stakes

Peachtree Stable’s Plum Pretty took command of Parx Racing’s $750, 000 Cotillion Stakes (G2) at the start and never looked back en route to an overpowering 7-1/2 length victory over rival It’s Tricky, with fellow OBS graduate Daring Reality (April ’10) checking in third. The newly minted millionaire 3-year-old daughter of Medaglia d’Oro, sold for $130,000 by Kirkwood Stables, Agent, at the 2010 OBS March Sale, is now 9-4-4-2 and has earned $1,296,700 to date.

Sharon Alesia, Bran Jam Stables, Ciaglia Racing LLC & Ron Dyrdek’s Weemissfrankie is a perfect three for three after her half length victory over fellow OBS graduate Candrea (March ’11) in the $250,000 Oak Leaf Stakes (G1) on Sunday. That’s two grade one wins for the 2-year-old daughter of Sunriver, who has earned $337,800 to date. She was sold first by Summerfield, Agent, at the 2010 August Yearling Sale before being purchased for $175,000 out of the Eddie Woods consignment at the 2011 April Sale.

Gold Mark Farm’s Vexor was off the board behind OBS graduate Currency Swap in a sloppy Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga in his last start but rebounded in Belmont’s $150,000 Nashua Stakes (G2) to best OBS grad Trinniberg (April ’11) by three quarters of a length for his first stakes win. Now 4-2-1-0 with earnings of $133,000, the 2-year-old Florida-bred son of Wildcat Heir was sold first at the 2009 OBS Fall Mixed Sale before being purchased for $90,000 out of the Bath Bayer consignment at the 2010 August Sale.

Shivmangal Racing Stable LLC’s Shkspeare Shaliyah trailed in the early going of the $100,000 Pilgrim Stakes (G3) at Belmont on Sunday, but rallied on the outside down the stretch and won his first stakes race by a length. That’s two wins in three starts for the 2-year-old Florida-bred colt by Shakespeare, sold for $21,000 by Max Ubide Stables, Agent, at the 2011 OBS June Sale. He has earned $96,700 to date and his record stands at 3-2-0-1.

Martin Brothers Inc. and Napierstables LLC’s Big Wednesday scored by 2-1/4 lengths over fellow OBS graduate Mr. Prankster (June ’11) in Saturday’s $150,600 Fitz Dixon Memorial Juvenile Stakes at Presque Isle Downs. It’s the first stakes win for the 2-year-old Florida-bred colt by Repent, consigned by Sharon Biamonte, Agent, to the 2010 OBS August Sale. The win gives him a 4-3-0-0 record and $142,250 in earnings.

Sherry Parbhoo’s Exclusively Maria posted her first stakes win in Sunday’s $96,150 Cassidy Stakes, beating fellow OBS graduate Another Romance (October ’09, Augsut ’10, June ’11) by a neck. It’s the second win in five starts for the 2-year-old Florida-bred filly by Exclusive Quality, giving her $98,258 in earnings. The three-time veteran of the OBS Sales ring was consigned by Summerfield, Agent to the 2009 October Sale and 2010 January Sale before they sold her for $1,700 at the 2010 August Sale.

Rey Wan Racing’s Hello Prince led a 1-2-3 OBS sweep of the $93,000 Birdonthewire Stakes at Calder Saturday, romping to a six length win over Seattle Ex (March ’11) with Angelofdistinction (August ’10) checking in third. It’s the second straight win and first stakes score for the Florida-bred 2-year-old colt by Halo’s Image, now 6-3-0-1 with earnings of $120,210. he was sold for $14,000 by Dean’s List, Agent for Bonnie Heath Farm at the 2010 OBS August Sale.
