Great Venue tops Fall Mixed Sale’s Consignor Preferred session

Hip No. 63, Great Venue, a mare by Unbridled’s Song consigned by Glen Hill Farm, went to Rustlewood Farm for $95,000 to top the Consignor Preferred session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2011 Fall Mixed Sale. The 3-year-old gray or roan mare, in foal to Scat Daddy, is out of stakes winner Rose Colored Lady, by Formal Dinner, and is a half sister to graded stakes winner Too Much Bling.

Hip No. 121, a weanling colt by Pomeroy consigned by TdM Sales (Tristan and Valery de Meric), Agent, was sold to Machmer Hall for $48,000. The bay colt is out of Clever Me, by Not For Love, a daughter of stakes winner Lady Clever Trick.

H.H., Agent went to $42,000 for Hip No. 55, a weanling filly by D’wildcat consigned by Andy Cant, Agent. The dark bay or brown filly is out of Pure Adrenalin, by Saint Ballado, and is a half sister to stakes winner John Johny Jak, third in the recent Oak Tree Mile Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita.

Hip No. 61, Love My Daddy, a weanling filly by Scat Daddy consigned by Sue Vacek, Agent, was sold to Machmer Hall for $37,000. The bay filly is out of River of Faith, by Bahri, a half sister to stakes winner Musaalem.

For the session, 80 horses brought a total of $1,038,100 compared with 166 horses selling for a total of $2,600,200 at last year’s consignor preferred session. The average was $12,976, compared with $15,664 in 2010 while the median price was $8,250, up from with $7,500 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 33.3%; it was 35.1% last year.
