Ask the Moon scores in Saratoga’s Personal Ensign; Weemissfrankie wins Del Mar Debutante

Farnsworth Stables LLC’s Ask the Moon made it two straight grade one wins at Saratoga on Saturday, going right to the lead at the start of the $300, 000 Personal Ensign Invitational Stakes (G1) and staying there all the way en route to a 2-3/4 length victory. Now 32-10-5-7, the 6-year-old daughter of Malibu Moon has earned $713,640 to date. Claimed by her current connections in June, she was sold for $125,000 by Nick de Meric, Agent, at the 2007 OBS March Sale.

Sharon Alesia, Bran Jam Stables, Ciaglia Racing LLC & Ron Dyrdek’s Weemissfrankie is two for two and a graded stakes winner after coming from off the pace to win Saturday’s $250,000 Del Mar Debutante Stakes (G1) by a length and a quarter. The two-time OBS graduate was sold first by Summerfield, Agent, at the 2010 August Yearling Sale before being purchased for $175,000 out of the Eddie Woods consignment at the 2011 April Sale. The 2-year-old daughter of Sunriver has earned $187,800. B. & R. McLellan, C. Hollick & S. Simon’s Atlantic Hurricane racked up her first stakes victory on Saturday at Woodbine, taking the $165,019 Seaway Stakes (G3) by three quarters of a length. That’s four straight wins for the 4-year-old Florida-bred filly by Halo’s Image, sold for $21,000 by Bridlewood Farm, Agent, at the 2009 OBS April Sale. The win gives her a 12-6-2-0 record and earnings of $245,740
