Rivers Run Deep a millionaire after taking Thistledown’s Honey Jay Stakes

Driver, Ywachetta and Travis’ Rivers Run Deep is the newest OBS millionaire after rallying to take the lead in the stretch of Saturday’s $75,000 Honey Jay Stakes at Thistledown and drawing away from there to a 2-1/4 length victory. It’s the fourteenth stakes win for 6-year old horse by Ready’s Image, sold for $77,000 to Garry Simms, Agent for James Driver, by Rod McVey, Agent, at the 2013 OBS June Sale after breezing an eighth in :10 flat at the Under Tack Show. Brian Hall, Jason & Justin Loutsch, Jason Cline & Nick Jensen’s Msbrooklynbrawler is two for two and a stakes winner after leading all the way to an overwhelming 12-1/4 length win in Saturday’s Iowa Sorority Stakes at Prairie Meadows. Trained by Kelly Von Hemel, the 2-year-old daughter of Into Mischief has earned $80,696 to date. Consigned by Bobby Dodd, Agent, to the 2017 OBS April Sale, she turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat before she was sold for $210,000 to Barry Berkelhammer, Agent for Albaugh Family Stables. watch her under tack video

Mario Silva’s Bonita picked up her first stakes win on Sunday in Gulfstream’s $50,000 Panama City Handicap. The 4-year-old Florida-bred filly by Bluegrass Cat trailed in the early going, but angled out for the drive and ran past the entire field in the stretch and scored by three quarters of a length. A two-time OBS graduate, she was sold by Summerfield, Agent, at the 2014 August Yearling Sale, and then was purchased for $25,000 by Mr. Silva out of the Sugar Hill LLC consignment at the 2015 April Sale after breezing an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show. watch her under tack video
