Consigned by Paul Sharp, Agent, he breezed an eighth in :10 1/5 at Wednesday’s Under Tack Session.
Speedway Stable went to $650,000 for Hip No. 591, a daughter of Malibu Moon consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, whose quarter in :20 4/5 was the fastest work at the distance at last Wednesday’s Under Tack session. The bay filly is out of graded stakes placed stakes winner In the Slips, by More Than Ready.
Hip No. 383, a daughter of Distorted Humor consigned by Off the Hook LLC, Agent, was sold to Mayberry Farm for $575,000. The chestnut filly, who worked an eighth in :10 flat last Tuesday, is out of Eileen’s Dream, by Bernardini, a half sister to grade one stakes winner Dream Rush.
Kanayama Holdings Co., Ltd. went to $540,000 for Hip No. 581, a chestnut colt by First Samurai consigned by Grassroots Training & Sales, LLC. He’s out of Indian Bay, by Indian Charlie, a daughter of graded stakes winner Buy the Barrel, and his eighth in :9 4/5 was co-fastest at the distance at Wednesday’s Under Tack session.
Hip No. 422, a bay filly by Quality Road consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, went to Justin Casse, Agent, for $500,000. Out of Favoritism, by Tiznow, a daughter of graded stakes placed Chaste from the family of Japanese grade one winning OBS graduate Moanin, her eighth in :9 4/5 was co-fastest at the distance at last Wednesday’s Under Tack session.
Hip No. 345, Artistic Diva, a daughter of Munnings consigned by Price Thoroughbreds LLC, Agent, went to L. E. B. for $425,000. The bay filly, whose eighth in :9 4/5 was co-fastest at the distance at Tuesday’s Under Tack session, is out of Diva N Disguise, by Mizzen Mast, a half sister to grade one stakes placed stakes winner Diva’s Diamond.
Hip No. 392, a son of Creative Cause consigned by Craig L. Wheeler, Agent, was sold to Linda Rice, Agent, for $320,000. The dark bay or brown colt, who worked an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5, is out of Endless Fancy, by Ghostzapper, from the family of graded stakes winner Jump Start.
Hip No. 466, by Sky Mesa, a half brother to graded stakes winner Govinda out of graded stakes placed Garden in the Rain (FR), by Dolphin Street, was purchased by Chuck Allen for $315,000. The dark bay or brown colt, consigned by S B M Training and Sales, Agent, breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5 on Wednesday.
Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners went to $300,000 for Hip No. 505, a daughter of Congrats consigned by Price Thoroughbreds LLC, Agent. The chestnut filly, who breezed an eighth in :10 1/5 on Wednesday, is out of Grand Finesse, by Grand Slam, from the family of grade one stakes winner Brocco.
Hip No. 567, Tony Soprano, a son of Street Boss consigned by McKathan Bros., Agent, went to J. Stevens Bloodstock, Agent for $300,000. The bay colt, who worked an eighth on Wednesday in :10 flat, is out of Humor and Music, by Distorted Humor, from the family of grade one stakes winner Music Note.
Hip No. 427, a bay colt by Graydar consigned by Paul Sharp, Agent, was sold to Brian Koriner, Agent for Jay Em Ess Stable, for $290,000. A half brother to stakes placed Dypsy out of Fiery Pulpit, by Pulpit, he breezed an eighth in :10 1/5 on Wednesday.
Hip No. 386, bay colt by Bodemeister consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, was purchased by Narvick International for $250,000. Out of stakes winner Elusive Horizon, by Elusive Quality, he turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 on Tuesday.
Mike Ryan, Agent for E 5 Racing, went to $250,000 for Hip No. 404, a daughter of Violence consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent, who breezed an eighth in :10 2/5 last Tuesday. The dark bay or brown filly is out of Ever Adored, by Forest Wildcat, a half sister to graded stakes winner Dangerous Midge.
Hip No. 437, Cummings, a bay colt by To Honor and Serve out of stakes placed Five Star Holding, by Five Star Day, was purchased by Jim Divito, Agent, for $250,000. The half brother to stakes placed Five Star Factor, consigned by Randy Miles, Agent, turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5.
For the day, 158 horses brought a total of $13,917,500 compared with 165 selling for a total of $12,323,500 at last year’s second session. The average price was $88,085, up 18% compared to 74,688 in 2016 while the median price was $41,000, compared with $45,000 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 25.1%; it was 27.6% last year. Fourteen horses sold for $250,000 or more, compared with eight at the corresponding session in 2016.
