Ciaglia Racing, Exline-Border, Gulliver Racing, Sharon Alesia, Christensen, and Legan’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) winner Champagne Room has won the Eclipse Award as 2016’s champion 2-year-old filly. The daughter of Broken Vow was on the board in four of five starts at two, breaking her maiden in Del Mar’s Sorrento Stakes (G2) in her second start, running third in the Del Mar Debutante (G1) and wrapping up her juvenile campaign with her Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) victory. Trained by Peter Eurton, she earned $1,386,600. Currently in training at Santa Anita, she turned in a bullet five eighths in :58 2/5 on Saturday morning.

Consigned by de Meric Sales to the 2016 OBS April Sale, she was purchased for $310,000 by Larry Zap, Agent, on behalf her owners.  watch her under tack video   Champagne Room’s April Sale auction footage

These connections also purchased multiple graded stakes winning Weemissfrankie for $175,000 at the 2011 April Sale. She went to be a two time grade one winner of $559,920 at the races and a valuable broodmare, with two of her offspring selling for more than a million dollars at auction in Japan.

Champagne Room is the fourth OBS graduate to win the Juvenile Filly championship, joining 2009 winner She Be Wild, Stardom Bound (2008) and Brave Raj (1986). All three also captured the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Filles (G1) en route to the title.
