Mind Your Biscuits takes Saratoga’s Amsterdam Stakes

J Stables, M. Scott Summers, Hope Summers and Daniel Summers’ Mind Your Biscuits trailed in the early going of Saratoga’s $200, 000 Amsterdam Stakes (G2), but moved up on the inside on the turn, fought to the lead a sixteenth from home and scored by a length and three quarters over fellow OBS graduate Maniacal (October ’15). It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old colt by Posse, trained by Robert Falcone, Jr., now 9-3-3-2 with $285,366 in earnings. Consigned by SBM Training and Sales, Agent, to the 2015 OBS April Sale, he turned in an eighth in :10 3/5 at the Under Tack Show.  watch his under tack video

China Horse Club and WinStar Farm’s Theory was a short-priced favorite in his debut in an $83,000 Maiden Special Weight test at Saratoga on Saturday and the 2-year-old son of Gemologist lived up to his billing. He pressed the early pace, took charge a quarter mile from home and cruised to a 5-1/2 length victory over fellow OBS graduate Reckling (April ’16) in 1:09 4/5 for six furlongs. Trained by Todd Pletcher, he earned $49,800 for his effort. He was purchased for $335,000 out of the Mayberry Farm consignment at the 2016 OBS April Sale after an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. watch his under tack video

JSM Equine’s Ancient Warfare moved up on the hedge to reach the leaders in an $83,000 Maiden Special Weight test on the turf to open the card at Saratoga on Saturday, got through to take command in the final sixteenth and drew away late to win by 2-1/2 lengths. It was the first start for the 2-year-old colt by Quality Road, sold to Justin Casse, Agent, by L & S Thoroughbreds for $250,000 at the 2016 OBS April Sale after breezing an eighth in :10 flat at the Under Tack Show. Trained by Mark Casse, the victory was worth $49,800. watch his under tack video

Rockingham Ranch’s Big League got his career off to a flying start at Del Mar on Saturday, scoring at first asking by 3-1/4 lengths in an $82,935 Maiden Special Weight race. The 2-year-old son of Speightstown pressed favored Honor and Courage early, put him away on the turn and rolled from there to a 3-1/4 length victory over fellow OBS graduate What’sontheagenda (April ’16). Consigned by Hoby & Layna Kight to the 2016 OBS March Sale, he breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat before he was purchased by Rockingham for $100,000.
