Sarah Sis scores; I’ll Have Another sires first winner

Joe Ragsdale’s Sarah Sis continued her march toward a million in earnings on Saturday at Arlington Park, taking the lead at the start of the $100, 000 Chicago Handicap (G3) and staying there to the wire, scoring by a length with fellow OBS graduate You Bought Her (April “12) checking in third. That’s four graded stakes wins for the 4-year-old daughter of Sharp Humor, trained by Ingrid Mason, now 18-7-5-0 and with earnings of $662,500. After breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5, she was purchased for $20,000 by Mr. Ragsdale out of the Doble Jak consignment at the 2014 OBS June Sale. watch her under tack video

Kentucky Derby (G1) and Preakness (G1) winning OBS graduate I’ll Have Another, 2012’s champion 3-year-old male, is off and running as a stallion with his first winner. Standing at Big Red Farm in Japan, he’s the sire of 2-year-old colt Un Autre, who scored in a maiden special weight test on the turf at Tokyo Racecourse (watch the race) .  I’ll Have Another, by Flower Alley, was purchased for J. Paul Reddam for $35,000 by Dennis O’Neill at the 2011 OBS April Sale, sold by Eisaman Equine, Agent, on behalf of Victor Davila. Pinnacle Racing Stable and Norman Stables’ Moment of Delight sat just off the lead in Gulfstream’s $75,000 Boca Chica Stakes on Saturday, took command after turning for home and drew off smartly to a 5-1/4 length victory. It’s the second stakes win for the 4-year-old Florida-bred filly by A. P. Warrior, who breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 before she was sold for $58,000 to Pinnacle Racing by Southern Cypress Stable, Agent, at the 2014 OBS April Sale. Now trained by Stanley Gold, she’s 16-4-4-1 and has earned $353,728 to date. watch her under tack video

RAP Racing’s Louisville First picked up her first stakes win on Sunday at Belmont Park, charging from behind in the stretch of the $100,000 New York Stallion Stakes for fillies and getting up late to win by half a length. Trained by George Weaver, the 3-year-old filly by Girolamo Is now 7-2-1-1 and has earned $133,360. Consigned to the 2015 OBS March Sale by Randy Bradshaw, Agent, she was sold to RAP Racing for $120,000 after breezing an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show. watch her under tack video

David Lengel, Norman Rader and Brett Brookman’s We’re All Set rallied wide on the turn in Sunday’s $75,000 Sea of Grass Stakes at Gulfstream, battled between horses down the stretch and was best by half a length at the wire over fellow OBS graduate Yourdreamsormine (June ’14, October ’12). It’s the first stakes win for the two-time OBS graduate, sold by Ocala Bloodstock, Agent, at the 2012 August Sale before she worked an Under Tack quarter in :21 3/5 and was purchased for $30,000 out of the Southern Chase Farm (Greg & Karen Dodd) consignment at the 2013 April Sale. The 5-year-old Florida-bred daughter of With Distinction, trained by Peter Walder, is now 35-6-5-9 and has earned $266,719 to date. watch her under tack video

David P. Taylor Jr.’s Find Joy also posted her first stakes win on Sunday, taking charge of the $50,000 Kent Stakes at Emerald Downs a sixteenth from home and winning by a length and a quarter. Trained by Frank Lucarelli, the 3-year-old filly by Drosselmeyer is now 8-2-0-3 and has earned $73,335. She was consigned by Eisaman Equine, Agent, to the 2015 OBS April Sale where she turned in an eighth in :10 flat at the Under Tack Show. watch her under tack video
