C R K Stable’s Kobe’s Back won Santa Anita’s $301, 035 San Carlos Stakes (G2) on Saturday after trailing early, circling wide on the turn, blowing past the leaders in the stretch and scoring by a length and a quarter. Fellow OBS graduate Calculator (April ’14) also closed late to be third. It’s the second straight graded stakes win and fourth overall for the 5-year-old son of Flatter, sold for $480,000 by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent, at the 2013 OBS March Sale after an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show.
