Zayat Stables LLC’s El Kabeir returned to the winner’s circle on Saturday, coming from off the pace in the $100, 000 City of Laurel Stakes and getting up in the final yards to win by a nose. The graded stakes winning 3-year-old colt by Scat Daddy accounted for the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2) at two and the Jerome (G3) and Gotham (G3) this past spring. Trained by John Terranova, he’s now 11-5-2-2 and has earned $834,892. He was purchased for a co-sale topping $250,000 by EQB, Inc. on behalf of Zayat Stables from Summerfield Sales (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent for Rustlewood Farm, at the 2013 OBS August Yearling Sale.
