Airoforce wins Churchill’s Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes

John C. Oxley’s Airoforce moved to the main track after settling for second in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf G1), came wide into the stretch of Churchill Downs’ $200, 000 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2) and drew away late to win his second graded stakes race by a length and a half. The 2-year-old son of Colonel John sped a quarter in :21 flat before he was purchased for $350, 000 out of the Richardson Bloodstock consignment at the 2015 OBS April Sale. Morris Bailey’s Full Salute relaxed in the early going of Saturday’s $75,000 Buffalo Man Stakes at Gulfstream Park West, moved on the turn to reach contention and then rallied down the lane to win by a length. It’s the second stakes win for the 2-year-old son of Speightstown, now 7-3-3-0 for trainer Eddie Plesa, Jr., with earnings of $199,295.  He was consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, to the 2015 OBS march Sale where he breezed a quarter in :21 1/5 a the Under Tack Show. watch his under tack video

Warner Thoroughbreds et al’s Swagger Jagger came off the fence to look for room at the top of the stretch in the $75,000 Pulpit Stakes at Gulfstream Park West, came after the leaders on the outside and was up in the final strides to win by a neck. It’s the first stakes win for the 2-year-old Florida-bred colt by Crown of Thorns, who worked a quarter in :21 4/5 before being purchased for $77,000 out of the Woodford Thoroughbreds consignment at the 2015 OBS April Sale. Trained by Michael Maker, he’s now 6-2-0-1 and has earned $83,630 to date. watch his under tack video
