Ken & Sarah Ramsey’s Stephanie’s Kitten successfully defended her title in Saturday’s $500, 000 Flower Bowl Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park, wearing down front-running Danza Cavallo in the final furlong and scoring by a length and a half. Trained by Chad Brown, her eight graded stakes wins include four grade ones, and she has compiled a 24-10-4-4 record and earned $3,192,904. Gary Barber’s Appealing Tale went right to the lead in the $400,000 Kelso Handicap (G2) at Belmont and never looked back, coasting to victory by a length and three quarters. It’s the second straight graded stakes win for the well traveled 5-year-old gelding by Tale of the Cat, who took Del Mar’s $235,000 Pat O’Brien Stakes (G2) in his last start.
