Gary Barber’s Appealing Tale went right to the lead in the $400,000 Kelso Handicap (G2) at Belmont and never looked back, coasting to victory by a length and three quarters. It’s the second straight graded stakes win for the well traveled 5-year-old gelding by Tale of the Cat, who took Del Mar’s $235,000 Pat O’Brien Stakes (G2) in his last start. Purchased by trainer Peter Miller for $95,000 out of the Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds consignment at the 2012 OBS March Sale after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5, he’s now 25-6-6-6 and has earned $773,222 to date. watch his under tack video
