Alex & JoAnn Lieblong’s graded stakes winner The Big Beast returned to the races at Oaklawn Park on Sunday and led a 1-2-3 OBS sweep of a $68,000 allowance test, wearing down front running Alsvid (April ‘11) in the final furlong and scoring by a length and a quarter over Double Ours (March ’12, October ’10), who closed to be second. Alsvid settled for third. Idle since his victory in Saratoga’s King’s Bishop Stakes (G1) last August, the 4-year-old colt by Yes It’s True, trained by Anthony Dutrow, is now 6-4-1-1 with $456,300 in earnings.
