Itsmyluckyday takes Saratoga’s Woodward Stakes

Trilogy Stable and Laurie Plesa’s Itsmyluckyday turned the tables on Whitney Stakes (G1) winner Moreno, dogging him from the start, battling him head to head down the stretch and proving best by a neck at the wire in Saratoga’s $600, 000 Woodward Stakes (G1). It’s the first grade  one victory for the 4-year-old colt by Lawyer Ron, who worked an Under Tack eighth in :10 3/5 before he was purchased for $110,000 by trainer Eddie Plesa out of the Eisaman Equine consignment at the 2012 OBS March Sale. The win gives him a 19-9-4-1 record and $1,662,600 in earnings. watch his under tack video

Donato Lanni & John F. Youngblood’s Avanzare picked up his first stakes win in Arlington’s $150,000 Washington Park Handicap (G3) on Saturday, going right to the front, opening up a daylight lead and hanging on when challenged late to win by a head. Four for eight this year, the 4-year-old Grand Reward gelding improved his record to 9-5-3-0 and has earned $217,180 to date. Consigned by Cutting Edge Equine, Agent, to the 2012 OBS June Sale, he was purchased by Lanni and Youngblood for $52,000 after a quarter in :21 3/5 a the Under Tack Show. watch his under tack video

West Point Thoroughbreds’ Quality Lass went to the lead in the $200,000 Turf Amazon Handicap at Parx Racing on Labor Day and stayed there all the way, holding on gamely to win by a head, with fellow OBS graduate Jewel of a Cat (April ’12) checking in third. It’s the second stakes score for the 5-year-old mare by Exclusive Quality, now 26-8-4-3 with earnings of $415,265. A two-time OBS graduate, she was sold by breeder Sienna Farms at the 2010 August Sale before being purchased for $82,000 by the late Buzz Chace on behalf of West Point out of the Kenny Lejeune consignment at the 2011 March Sale after working an eighth in :10 flat at the Under Tack Show. watch her under tack video

Laurie Plesa and Vincent Rizzuto’s Concealedwithakiss is two for two and a stakes winner after a two length wire to wire win in Sunday’s $77,500 Sorority Stakes at Monmouth Park. Consigned by Eisaman Equine, Agent, to the 2014 OBS June, the 2-year-old filly by Political Force sped an eighth in :10 2/5 at the Under Tack Show.
