Indian Charlie filly tops third June Sale session

Hip No. 756, a daughter of Indian Charlie consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, was sold to Bridlewood Farm for $500,000 to top the third session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2014 June Sale of Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age. The bay filly, who worked a quarter in :21 1/5 at the Under Tack Show, is out of Greyciousness, by Miswaki, and is a half sister to grade one stakes winner The Factor.

Sagamore Farm, Bob Feld, Agent, went to $260,000 for Hip No. 798, a bay filly by Medaglia d’Oro consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent. Out of graded stakes winner Hostess, by Chester House, she turned in an eighth in :10 2/5 at the Under Tack Show. Sagamore Farm also paid $125,000 for Hip No. 661, a son of Lookin At Lucky consigned by Gayle Woods, Agent for Phaedrus Flights LLC. The chestnut colt, a half brother to stakes placed Earth Living, is out of Etoufee, by Tabasco Cat, and worked three eighths in :35 1/5 Under Tack.

Hip No. 825, a son of Midshipman consigned by Eisaman Equine, Agent went to Donato Lanni, Agent for The Three Amigos, for $240,000. The bay colt, who worked an eighth in :10 1/5 on Friday, is out of Inspirational, by Lord At War (ARG), and is a half brother to graded stakes winner The Niagara Queen. Lanni also bought Hip No. 641 for $110,000 on behalf of The Three Amigos, a son of Candy Ride (ARG) consigned by Thoroughbred Champions Training Center LLC. The chestnut colt, out of stakes placed Dyna Del, by Dynaformer, worked an eighth in :10 flat, co-fastest at Thursday’s Under Tack session.

Hip No. 603, a son of Curlin consigned by Stephens Thoroughbreds LLC, went to Sky Chai Racing for $210,000. The chestnut colt, who breezed an eighth in :10 1/5 last Thursday, is out of Delta Rhythm, by A.P. Indy, a daughter of graded stakes placed stakes winner Delta Music.

Hip No. 676, a bay filly by Blame consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent, was sold for $150,000 to Baugh, Van Leer, Agents for Slugo Racing. A half sister to graded stakes placed stakes winner Featherbed out of Favorite Feather, by Capote, she worked an Under Tack eighth in :10 3/5.

Patrice Miller, EQB, Inc., Agent, went to $145,000 for Hip No. 699 by Tapit out of Flock of Doves, by Kingmambo, a half sister to grade one stakes winner Pathfork. The gray or roan colt, consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, worked a quarter in :21 4/5 at the Under Tack Show.

Steven W. Young, Agent bought Hip No. 805, a daughter of Munnings consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, for $140,000. The dark bay or brown filly, who worked an eighth in :10 flat, is out of stakes winner Hurricane Bernie, by Sea of Secrets, a half sister to grade one winner Mizdirection.

Hip No. 645, American Star, a daughter of Quiet American consigned by Paul Sharp, Agent, was sold to Cody Autrey, Agent for Steve Landers, for $135,000. The bay filly, who worked an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5, is out of Eau de Vie, by Hennessy, a half sister to stakes placed Edgerin J.

J S Company Ltd. went to                 $110,000 for Hip No. 841, a gray or roan filly by Lantana Mob consigned by Southern Chase Farm, Inc. (Greg & Karen Dodd), Agent. Out of Jennierees, by Gold Case, a half sister to stakes winner Stormin Hanna, her quarter in :20 4/5 was co-fastest at the distance at Friday’s Under Tack session.

Hip No. 619, a bay filly by Into Mischief out of Diva Dyna, by Grand Slam, was sold to Bradley Thoroughbreds LLC, Agent, for $100,000. The half sister to stakes winner Tiree, who worked an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5, was consigned by Casse Sales LLC (Justin Casse), Agent for Kinsman Farm.

For the session, 196 horses grossed $6,545,900, averaging $33,397 with a $17,000 median price. The buyback percentage was 14.8%. There was no corresponding session in 2013.
