Cinco Charlie captures Churchill’s Bashford Manor Stakes

William & Corrine Heiligbrodt’s Cinco Charlie,  the first OBS graduate of the class of 2014 to break his maiden, is now it’s first graded stakes winner, going to the lead in the $108,100 Bashford Manor Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs and staying there all the way, easing away late to score by a length and three quarters. After working an eighth in :10 1/5 at the March Sale Under Tack Show, he was purchased for $190,000 out of the Cary Frommer consignment.  watch his under tack video

Thomas D. Shank and Stan Young’s Good Lord took charge of Churchill’s $66,000 Kelly’s Landing Stakes at the break and he never looked back, leading by daylight from start to finish en route to a 2-3/4 length victory. It’s the seventh stakes win for the 6-year-old Florida-bred son of Greatness, consigned by Tradewinds Farm, Agent, to the 2009 OBS June Sale. The win leaves him with a 59-12-9-12 record and earnings of $615,454. watch his under tack video
