Wildcat Red wins Gulfstream’s Fountain of Youth

Honors Stable Corp.’s Wildcat Red took the lead at the start of Gulfstream’s $415,000 Besilu Stables Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2), battled head to head the entire mile and a sixteenth with General a Rod and refused to let him pass, prevailing by a head at the wire. It’s the second straight graded stakes win for the  3-year-old Florida-bred colt by D’wildcat, purchased by trainer Jose Garoffalo for $30,000 from Classic Bloodstock (Danzel Brendemuehl), Agent, at the 2013 OBS June Sale after working an eighth in :10 2/5 at the Under Tack Show. Now 6-4-2-0 with earnings of $490,850, he’s the seventh OBS graduate to win win the Fountain of Youth, joining Star Gallant (1982), Darn That Alarm (1984), My Prince Charming (1986), Ensign Rhythm (1987), Booklet (2002) and Trust N Luck (2003). watch his under tack video
