Kitten’s Joy filly tops Fall Mixed Sale’s Consignor Preferred session

Hip No. 73, a weanling filly by Kitten’s Joy consigned by Top Line Sales LLC went to Machmer Hall for $110, 000 to top the Consignor Preferred session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2013 Fall Mixed Sale. The dark bay or brown filly is out of Brickyard Gal, by Proud Citizen, a half sister to graded stakes winner Moviesta.

Hip No. 91, weanling daughter of Discreet Cat consigned by Kerri Szegi, Agent, was sold to Jumping Jack Racing for $75,000. The bay filly is out of De Danann, by War Chant, a half sister to graded stakes winner Regal Engagement.

Hip No. 161, Ribbon Taffy, a 4-year-old mare by Hard Spun consigned by Top Line Sales LLC was sold to Hunter Valley Farm for $72,000. In foal to Into Mischief, the bay mare is out of Partyship, by Premiership, and is a half sister to stakes winner Barrier Reef.

Hip No. 1, Paint Me Red, an 8-year-old mare by Red Bullet consigned by TdM Sales (Tristan & Valery de Meric), Agent, went to H & E Ranch for $65,000. The chestnut mare, out of stakes winner Queen St. West, by Smarten, sold in foal to Quality Road.

Hip No. 123, a weanling colt by Smoke Glacken was sold to H & E Ranch for $65,000. The gray or roan colt, consigned by Kerri Szegi, Agent, is out of Honora Helen, by Bianconi.

Hip No. 143, a weanling filly by Put It Back consigned by Bobby Jones Equine LLC, Agent, also brought $65,000, going to B. P. N. A half sister to graded stakes winner Another Romance, the dark bay or brown filly is out of Love To, by Friendly Lover.

Hip No. 99, Big Promise, an 11-year-old mare by Rahy in foal to Sky Mesa, was sold to A F I, Inc. for $57,000.  Consigned by Glen Hill Farm, the bay mare is out of stakes winner Effectiveness, by Notebook.     

For the session, 116 horses sold for a total of $2,631,000 compared with 123 horses selling for a total of $1,740,900 at last year’s Consignor Preferred session. The average was $22,681, up 60.2% compared with $14,154 in 2012 while the median price soared 68.1% from $11,000 last year to $18,500. The buyback percentage was 15.9%; it was 18% a year ago.
