Morey, Roger Newman and Ray Pagano’s Positive Response closed strongly in the final furlong and scored by 2-1/4 lengths in Saturday’s $57,550 County of Alameda Handicap at Pleasanton. It’s the fourth stakes win for the 5-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Pomeroy, sold for $21,000 by W.D. North Thoroughbreds LLC, Agent, at the 2010 OBS June Sale. Loooch Racing Stable’s Caviar N Champagne posted her second straight stakes win Sunday with a half length victory in the $50,000 J. Wm Petro Memorial Handicap at Thistledown. Sold for $13,000 by Lynne Boutte, Agent, at the 2010 OBS August Sale, the 4-year-old filly by Formal Dinner is now 22-6-4-4 and has earned $188,404 to date.
