Conquest Stables LLC’s Conquest Two Step lived up to his advance notices in his debut in a $39, 481 maiden special weight test at Churchill Downs, pressing a rapid pace before taking charge turning for home and scoring by two lengths. Sold as a yearling by Get Away Farm at the 2012 OBS August Sale, the 2-year-old colt by Two Step Salsa was then resold for $420,000 by Eisaman Equine at the 2013 OBS April Sale after working an eighth in :10 flat at the Under Tack Show. Another OBS first timer also scored Friday as Joseph Bucci’s Jake’s Magic Hat rallied from off the pace, ran by the leaders a furlong from home and eased away to a 2-1/2 length victory in a $70,000 maiden special test at Belmont.
