Stoneway Farm LLC and Gary Barber’s Spring Venture took the overland route in Woodbine’s Mazarine Stakes (G3), but losing ground made little difference as the 2-year-old old daughter of Spring At Last took charge after turning for home and pulled away to a length and a half victory. Scuderia Vama di Renzo Dolzan’s Gordol du Mes scored his first stakes win on October 7, taking the Criterium Nazioanale on the turf in at Milan by 2-1/2 lengths. The 2-year-old Florida-bred colt by Exchange Rate, consigned by Sienna Farms LLC to the 2011 OBS August Sale, has three wins and a second in his first four starts.
