MAT Stables, LLC’s Royal Currier led a 1-2-3 OBS sweep of Belmont’s $83, 300 Diablo Stakes, taking command going to the turn and then improving his position the rest of the way, beating This Ones for Phil (October ’08) by 3-3/4 lengths, with Que Posse (February ’09) another three quarters of a length back in third. It’s the second straight win for the 4-year-old gelding by Red Bullet, sold for $5,500 at the 2010 Adena Springs Sale. His sixth stakes victory leaves him with a 23-10-6-2 record and earnings of $569,550.
