April Sale Under Tack Show begins Tuesday

The Under Tack Show for Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2012 Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training begins on Tuesday, April 17th.  Hip No.’s 1-300 will breeze on Tuesday, Hip No.’s 301-598 on Wednesday, April 18th, Hip No.’s 599-898 on Thursday, April 19th and Hip No.’s 899-1196 on Friday, April 20th. Each session begins at 8:00 a.m.

The Under Tack Show will be streamed live via the OBS website at obssales.com and will also be streamed live via the Blood-Horse and Daily Racing Form websites. The workouts will also be recorded and videos will be available on the website, in their entirety or by individual hip number. They will also be available for viewing in the video room adjacent to the Horsemen’s Lounge in the sales pavilion as well as several kiosks in the lobby and the covered walking ring. In-room viewing is available at Holiday Inn, The Courtyard by Marriott, Homewood Suites, Residence Inn and the Ocala Hilton, plus lounge viewing is available at the Hilton. Under Tack Show results are posted on theOBSwebsite.

There are 1,196 two-year-olds cataloged for the four-day OBS sale, beginning Monday, April 23rd and continuing through Thursday, April 26th. All four sessions will begin at 10:30 a.m.

I’ll Have Another became the seventh Spring Sale graduate to win a grade one race since the beginning of 2011, punching his ticket to the Kentucky Derby with a victory in last week’s $750,000 Santa Anita Derby (G1). It’s the second straight graded win for the 3-year-old colt by Flower Alley, sold for $35,000 by Eisaman Equine, Agent, at the 2011 OBS April Sale.

Atlantic Hurricane recently joined Eclipse Award winners Musical Romance and Blind Luck on the roster of champion Spring Sale graduates, racking up three stakes victories in 2011 and winning the Sovereign Award as Canada’s champion female sprinter. Sold for $21,000 by Bridlewood Farm, Agent, at the 2009 OBS April Sale, the 5-year-old Florida-bred filly by Halo’s Image, who  scored her first graded stakes win in the Seaway Stakes (G3) at Woodbine in September, ended her 2011 campaign with a victory in Woodbine’s Bessarabian Stakes (G3) in November.

The other grade one winners include Stephanie’s Kitten, whose victory in the Darley Alcibiades Stakes (G1) was a springboard to her win in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf Stakes (G2). Turbulent Descent and Weemissfrankie both posted a pair of grade one victories and Ultimate Eagle’s three graded wins included the G1 Hollywood Derby.
