Musical Romance, Stephanie’s Kitten, Secret Circle win Breeders’ Cup races

Pinnacle Racing Stable & William A. Kaplan’s Musical Romance fought to the lead on the inside between fillies in the stretch of the $909, 000 Sentient Jet Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1) then held off the late closers to win by a length and a half. It’s the second graded stakes win for the 4-year-old Florida-bred filly by Concorde’s Tune, now 32-9-5-7 and OBS’ newest millionaire with earnings of $1, 217,850. She was sold for $22,000 by breeder Ocala Stud at the 2009 OBS April Sale. WATCH UNDER TACK HERE

Ken & Sarah Ramsey’s Stephanie’s Kitten wore down pacesetting fellow OBS graduate Stopshoppingmaria (March ’11) in the final yards and won the $909,000 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G2) by three quarters of a length. That’s two straight graded stakes wins for 2-year-old daughter of Kitten’s Joy, consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, to the 2011 OBS April Sale. Karl Watson, Mike Pegram, and Paul Weitman’s unbeaten Secret Circle pressed a wicked pace in the $454,500 Sentient Jet Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Sprint, took command turning for home and won his second stakes race by a length. The 2-year-old Eddington colt, three for three with earnings of $348,990, was sold for $165,000 by Flying Fish, Agent, at the 2011 OBS March Sale. WATCH UNDER TACK HERE

Carolyn Wilson’s Arena Elvira romped to her first graded stakes win Friday, taking Aqueduct’s $98,000 Turnback the Alarm Handicap (G3) by 6-3/4 lengths. That’s three straight stakes wins for the 4-year-old Ghostzapper filly, sold by Straightaway Farm Agent, for $210,000 at the 2009 OBS March Sale. RnB Racing LLC’s Shadowbdancing settled for second in last year’s $125,000 Mountaineer Mile, but returned and won the 2011 renewal by three quarters of a length. It’s the second stakes win of the year for the 6-year-old Florida-bred son of Montbrook, now 34-13-6-5 with earnings of $863,197. He was sold for $200,000 by breeder Ocala Stud at the 2007 OBS February Sale. WATCH UNDER TACK HERE

Klaravich Stables Inc. and William H. Lawrence’s Managed Account picked up his first stakes victory on Sunday at Aqueduct, scoring by a neck in the $75,000 Toccet Stakes. Sold for $75,000 by de Meric Sales, Agent, at the 2011 OBS April Sales, the 2-year-old colt by Malibu Moon is now 4-2-0-1 and has earned $93,883. WATCH UNDER TACK HERE

Kretz Racing LLC’s John Johny Jak, sold for $37,000 by Two Sharp Hats, Agent, at the 2009 OBS April Sale after consigning him to the 2008 August Sale, won Saturday’s $70,150 Lure Stakes at Santa Anita by a nose. It’s the fourth win in nine starts this year for the 4-year-old Florida-bred son of Wildcat Heir, giving him a 23-8-5-2 record and $284,799 in earnings. WATCH UNDER TACK HERE
