Atlantic Hurricane wins Woodbine’s Ontario Fashion Stakes

B. & R. McLellan, C. Hollick & S. Simon’s Atlantic Hurricane added Woodbine’s $165, 019 Ontario Fashion Stakes to her resume on Sunday, winning her second stakes race by half a length. That’s five wins in seven starts this year for the 4-year-old Florida-bred filly by Halo’s Image, now 14-7-2-1 with earnings of $346,974. She was sold for $21,000 by Bridlewood Farm, Agent, at the 2009 OBS April Sale.

Earl J. Trostad, Jr. and David Machtemes’ Awalkinthemoonlite score her first stakes win on Sunday, winning the $66,000 Gold Digger Stakes at Hawthorne by 2-1/2 lengths, with fellow OBS graduate Magic Chapel (August ’10) checking in third. The 2-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Repent, now 3-2-0-0 with earnings of $50,318, was sold for $17,000 by A. Clare Silva, Agent for Hickory Meadow Farm at the 2010 OBS August Sale.

Happy Tenth Stable’s Deliburnsky romped to his first stakes win by six lengths in Saturday’s $60,000 Jersey Juvenile Stakes at Monmouth Park. Sold for $70,000 by Shadybrook Farm, Agent, at the 2011 OBS April Sale, the 2-year-old gelding by Flatter is 4-2-0-0 and has earned $73,800 to date.
