Where’s Sterling takes Monmouth’s Iselin Stakes

Frank Carl Calabrese’s Where’s Sterling scored the first stakes win of his career at Monmouth on Saturday, taking the $150, 000 Philip H. Iselin Stakes by a length. That’s three wins in five starts this year for the 4-year-old colt by Northern Afleet, sold for $50,000 by Mayberry Farm, Agent, at the 2009 OBS April Sale. Now 8-3-3-0, he has earned $224,110.

Midwest Thoroughbreds, Inc.’s Sneak A Cold Treat won Thistledown’s $50,000 Honey Jay Stakes for the second straight year Saturday, taking the 2011 renewal by a length. Consigned by Tom McCrocklin, Agent, to the 2007 OBS June Sale, the 6-year-old gelding by Snuck In has accounted for three stakes wins, compiled a 39-13-6-3 record, and earned $262,096.
