Majestic City wins Hollywood’s Willard L. Proctor Memorial Stakes

Majestic Racing Stable LLC’s Majestic Cityis two for two and a stakes winner after a 3-1/2 length romp in Sunday’s $78, 470 Willard L. Proctor Memorial Stakes at Hollywod Park. Sold for $180, 000 by Bo Hunt, Agent, at the 2011 OBS March Sale, the 2-year-old colt by City Zip has earned $75, 570.

Klaravich Stables Inc. and William H. Lawrence’s Zero Rate Policy rolled to his third straight win on Saturday at Monmouth with a 4-3/4 length score in the $75, 900 Rumson Stakes. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old Florida-bred colt by Trippi, now 4-3-1-0 with earnings of $124,184. A three time OBS graduate, he was sold by Janie Roper, Agent, at the 2008 Fall Mixed Sale and by All Dreams Equine, Agent, at the 2009 August Sale before being sold for $100,000 by All In Sales (Tony Bowling), Agent, at the 2010 March Sale.

Hardacre Farm LLC’s Pomeroy’s Pistol picked up her second stakes win on Saturday, cruising to a 4-1/2 length victory in the $75,000 Just Smashing Stakes at Monmouth.The 3-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Pomeroy, now 8-3-1-2 with earnings of $260,178, was consigned by Summerfield, Agent, to the 2009 OBS August Yearling Sale.

Pinnacle Racing Stable & William A. Kaplan’s Musical Romance made it two straight stakes wins, beating fellow OBS graduate Indulgence (March ’09) by three quarters of a length in Calder’s $73,900 U Can Do It Handicap on Saturday. It’s the third stakes win for the 4-year-old Florida-bred filly by Concorde’s Tune, now 27-6-3-6 with earnings of $291,849. She was sold for $55,000 by breeder Ocala Stud at the 2009 OBS April Sale.

Shivananda Parboo’s Giant Ryan rolled to his fourth straight win, scoring by 4-3/4 lengths over fellow OBS graduate Royal Tricon (August ’08) in Calder’s $68,700 Ponche Handicap on Saturday. It’s the second stakes win for the three time OBS graduate, sold first by Burleson Farms LLC, Agent, at the 2006 Fall Mixed Sale. After being consigned by M & H Training and Sales, Agent, to the 2008 March Sale, was sold by M & H for $27,000 at the 2008 June Sale. The 5-year-old son of Freud is now 12-6-1-1 and earned $202,011 to date.
