Blind Luck rallies to win Hollywood’s Vanity Handicap

Mark Dedomenico LLC, John Carver, Peter Abruzzo & Jerry Hollendorfer’s champion Blind Luckwas back on the west coast at Hollywood Park on Saturday and put in her usual late rally to win the $250,000 Vanity Handicap (G1) by half a length. It’s the sixth grade one stakes win for the 4-year-old daughter of Pollard’s Vision, now 20-11-7-2 with earnings of $2,829,520. She was consigned to the 2009 OBS April Sale by Omega Farm, Agent.

R J G Racing Management LLC’s Wink at the Girls picked up his first stakes win on Saturday at Charles Town, scoring by half a length in the $100,000 Wild and Wonderful Stakes. It’s the second win in seven starts this year for the 6-year-old Florida-bred son of Halo’s Image, sold first by T-Square Stud LLC, Agent at the 2006 OBS August Sale before bringing $30,000 when purchased out of the Robert McElroy consignment at the 2007 OBS April Sale. The win gives him a 41-12-12-5 record and $501,946 in earnings.

Robert Abba Racing Stable LLC’s Immortal Eyes successfully defended his title in the $75,000 Charles Town Invitational Dash Handicap, scoring his third win of the year by 3-1/2 lengths. Now 24-7-6-3, the 6-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Greatness was first sold at the 2006 Winter Mixed Sale then resold at the 2006 August Yearling Sale. Then, consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, to the 2007 February Sale, he brought $220,000. He has earned $315,147 to date.

Mat Stables’ Royal Currier won Monmouth’s $67,750 Anderson Fowler Stakes by a length and a quarter on Sunday, posting his second win in six starts this year. It’s the second stakes win for the 3-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Red Bullet, sold for $5,500 at the 2010 Adena Springs Sale. The win gives him a 12-6-4-0 record and earnings of $235,950.
