Bernstein colt tops June Sale opener

Hip No. 16, a colt by Bernstein consigned by Robert Brewer went to Patrice Miller EQB Inc., Agent, for $300,000 to top the first session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2011 June Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age. The dark bay or brown colt, out of Within, by Rahy, breezed an eighth in :10 flat, co-fastest work at the distance at last Saturday’s Under Tack session.

Hip No. 154, French Breeze, is a filly by Elusive Quality consigned by Paul Sharp, Agent, was purchased by Justice Family Racing , LLC for $220,000. The dark bay or brown filly out of stakes placed Di’s Delight, by French Deputy, worked an eighth at Saturday’s Under Tack session in :10 flat, co-fastest at the distance.

Hip No. 31, Allen’s Charm, a colt by Congrats consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent was sold to James Divito, Agent for $175,000. The dark bay or brown colt, who worked an eighth in :10 2/5 on Saturday, is out of Allen’s Ms, by Allens’s Prospect, a half sister to graded stakes winner Love of Money.

Justice Family Racing , LLC also went to $150,000 for Hip No. 80, Leroy Jr., a colt by Leroidesanimaux (BRZ) out of graded stakes winner Booly, by Apalachee, consigned by Hoppel’s Horse and Cattle Co., Agent. The chestnut colt worked an eighth on Saturday in :10 flat, co-fastest at the distance.

Hip No. 220, a filly by Corinthian consigned by Tradewinds Farm, Agent, went to Kyle Kaenel for $130,000. Out of Gala Secreta, by Spinning World, a half sister to graded stakes winner Dubleo, the chestnut filly breezed an eighth in :10 2/5.

Hip No. 149, a colt by More Than Ready consigned by McKathan Bros., Agent, was sold to Patrice Miller EQB Inc., Agent, for $100,000. The bay colt, who worked an eighth in :10 1/5, is out of Designatoree, by Alysheba, and is a half brother to graded stakes winner Voice of Destiny.

Lou Dunn Diekemper went to $100,000 for Hip No. 263, a Harlan’s Holiday filly consigned by Costanzo Sales. The dark bay or brown filly, who worked an eighth in :10 2/5, is out of stakes winner Homemaker, by Afternoon Deelites.

For the session, 159 horses sold for a total of $3,484,000. The average was $21,912 with a $10,000 median price. The buyback percentage was 34.3%.

The June Sale’s second and final session (Hip No.’s 313 – 623) begins Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m.
