Scat Daddy colt fastest at March Under Tack opener

Hip No. 137, a colt by Scat Daddy consigned by Old South Farm, Agent, sped an eighth in :9 4/5 to post the fastest work at the distance at the first session of the Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2011 March Sale of Selected 2-Year-Olds in Training. The bay colt is out of Madagascat, by Tale of the Cat, a half sister to graded stakes winner Lindsay Jean.

Eight youngsters worked eighths in :10 flat. Hip No. 16 is a bay colt by Indian Charlie consigned by McKathan Bros., Agent, out of Eva’s Melody, by Storm Creek, a half sister to graded stakes winner Straight Man. Hip No. 50, consigned by Harris Training Center LLC, Agent, is a bay colt by Fusaichi Pegasus out of Glister Girl, by Glitterman, a daughter of stakes winner Shivering Six. Hip No. 82, consigned by Paul Sharp, Agent, is a gray or roan colt by Mizzen Mast out of Im Cruising Dixie, by Dixie Union, a half sister to stakes winner Patsysprospect. Hip No. 148 is a chestnut filly by More Than Ready out of stakes winner Marwood, by Marlin, consigned by Jerry Bailey Sales Agency, Agent. Hip No. 157, consigned by Old South Farm, Agent, is a bay filly by Unbridled’s Song out of Miss Gem by Exclusive Gem, and is a half sister to graded stakes winner Meadow Gem. Hip No. 184, Podium Seeker, is a chestnut filly by Exclusive Quality out of stakes placed On the Podium by Bold Executive, consigned by Kenneth Lejeune, Agent. Hip No. 221, consigned by Crupi’s New Castle Farm, Agent, is a bay colt by City Zip out of Receivership, by End Sweep, and is a half brother to stakes placed Retriever. Hip No. 226 is a bay colt by Street Sense consigned by Classic Bloodstock (Danzel Brendemuehl), Agent, out of graded stakes winner Regally Appealing, by Valid Appeal.

Two youngsters shared honors for the session’s fastest quarter, each stopping the timer in :21 1/5. Hip No. 56 is a filly by Latent Heat consigned by Wavertree Stable (Ciaran Dunne), Agent. The bay filly is out of Great Deep Bay, by Mr. Greeley. Hip No. 182, consigned by Eisaman Equine, Agent, is a chestnut filly by Forest Wildcat out of Nyanza, by Montbrook, a half sister to stakes winner Sweet Nanette.

Seven horses worked quarters in :21 2/5.
